Changing Cover Slide

To change the thumbnail or cover slide for your wideo, play the wideo until you get to the image you want as your thumbnail. Pause it, then click the camera button in the top left corner of the player. You may have to wait a minute and/or refresh the page, but it will change shortly!

This will be the first image to be shown to viewers before they press the play button in your videos. You may want to pick the best part of your wideo to encourage or seduce viewers to watch it.

    Hi there!

Sorry if you weren't able to change the thumbnail successfully!

Could you please try to access our platform from a private/incognito window or a different browser? Wideo stores a lot of information via cookies, and this helps reset it.

    Hope that helps!

    All my best,
    Robbie

I am having trouble with Wideo working on my iPhone. It says Hang on, please. It takes time to squeeze all this awesomeness in such a little screen. Come back in a few moment while we work our magic. However, it is still not playing. Is Wideo not mobile friendly?

    Hi there!

    Thanks for getting in touch!

At the moment we're going through some changes regarding mobile compatibility as we build our HTML5 player. The launch of our new player should bring with it some vast improvements, especially regarding Wideo's compatibility on mobile devices. These improvements will be implemented over the next few months.

At the moment wideos play on certain mobile devices but not on others.

To avoid this issue you can always upload your wideo to Youtube (the compatibility issue is specifically between our platform and certain mobile devices' operating systems).

Hope that answers you question! Feel free to get in touch if I can help out with anything else!

    All my best,
    Robbie

I really want to change the thumbnail but this technique doesn't work. The video has chosen the weirdest screenshot as its thumbnail.

    Hi there!

    Thanks for the message!

It looks like there's a bug that's currently affecting the change thumbnail option. Sorry about that! It's currently on the developers' to-do list.

Thanks for letting us know! If there's anything else I can help you with feel free to write me at smile@wideo.co

    All my best,
    Robbie

    So Robbie,
The developers have had this for a while. When is it going to be fixed? Being able to pick your thumbnail is very important. When is it going to be done? Why has it taken almost a year to be fixed?

    Hi there!

You should be able to change the cover slide successfully. Sometimes it just takes a short time for the new cover slide to be updated and saved. Please make sure that you make these changes from a private window in your browser so that they get saved correctly.

    Thank you!

    All my best,
    Robbie

Robbie, The option to change the cover slide isn't there. There is no little camera in the corner. Not on Safari or on Chrome. So I'm not sure what you are talking about BUT I cannot change the cover slide because there is no option to do that. WHEN will this option be available again?

Please update this article to indicate that the option to change the cover slide is not in the editor but is ONLY available in the Wideo Player. Folks are looking for this on the Editor page.
